Martina: That was wonderful, thanks.

I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank you so much for coming here on short notice.

Martina: Oh, it's my pleasure. I'm just glad I was able to come. (...) nice.

Oh boy! And a nice suit too! Oh it (...)

Martina: Thanks.

Would you like a little party afterwards?

Martina: I'd love to, sure.

But right now, we're gonna move right ahead. We're gonna do another song. She's gonna do another song for us. And it's called... Ladies and gentlemen, singing "Phones Are Ringin' All Over Town" - Martina McBride!

Martina: Thank you.

Martina (laughs): Thank you.

Where did you learn to sing like that?

Martina: You know, I don't... I really believe that... that I was blessed with a gift. I don't think...

Did you ever study at all?

Martina: No, not really. I... I started singing around the house when I was really small, three or four years old. And my parents...

Music (...)?

Martina: Yeah, my dad had a country band and so I could remember they would set up and rehearse in the living room and there was just always music playing. Music was really the center of my little world. And my folks... I don't really know that I could sing, you know, any better than the other three- or four-year-olds, but I.... They nurtured it and really encouraged me and I always felt like it was what I was put here to do.

Well you're really coming to your own. It really shows.

Martina: Oh thanks.

It's a ... You've got a lot maturity to your singing and a lot of confidence.

Martina: Oh thank you. Thanks.

And it's something that's needed.

Martina: Sometimes I do like it.

I... I understand that your daughter Delaney was involved in this last video.

Martina: Yes she was. She was... Well she was involved in the single 'Wild Angels'. I wanted to include her in this album because she is such a part of it. She was there for almost every....

How old is she now?

Martina: She's just over a year old.

Oh.

Martina: We started recording the album when she was just about month old and so I'd take her in the studio with me every day and she sat with me in a vocal booth and was there for (...) every note that was played. So I wanted to include her somehow and I... She was such a happy baby, she's still such a happy baby, and I wanted her to... to do a little laugh on the beginning of the album. I thought 'That would be very easy, she laughs all the time and it will be very easy.'

Martina: So I waited until the night before I was supposed to turn it in which was the first big mistake. And this child, who was so happy and laughed all the time, until you stick a microphone in her face... We took... My husband and I... John... We made complete idiots of ourselves for about... I mean I'm just glad nobody was there with a camera, because for about two hours we were crawling across the floor, jumping up and down, waving our arms, screaming, singing, playing (...)

She smiled really big, but she didn't laugh.

Martina: We finally got... We got a little laugh.... I also wanted to say Happy Brirthday, my husband.... It's my husband's birthday today. (...) backstage.

Well you had a bunch of stuff going (...) lately. You know, you were just (...) into the Grand Ole Opry and you just (...) there hte other night, right?

Martina: Yeah, it was a.... You see, (...) of my career, without a doubt, this last fall I was asked to be a member of the Grand Ole Opry and then my first appearance as a member on Saturday night. And it's just... it's the most exciting, wonderful thing. (the audience applauses) That's right.

(...) of Letterman and Leno, those guys, huh?

Martina: Yeah!

Martina: This is great! This is awesone! (the audience applauses) Beautiful set, sold-out audience! You're doing a wonderful job.
