When you describe my next guest, besides the obvious words like beautiful and talented, a phrase that someone once came up was "a vocal keg of dynamite". And you know it the first time you hear her. So many of you love her music, she was nominated for Grammy Award for "I Love You", her number 1 song. And of course the CMA reigning Female Vocalist of the Year, Martina McBride.

Martina: Hi!

Welcome in this evening.

Martina: Thanks.

It's great to see... It's good to have you.

Martina: Good to see you.

Now the CMA Awards are on the horizon again (...), I mean just a few weeks away now. Your acceptance speech... Your husband John just left with Emma, as a matter of fact, because she wanted to be a part of the show.

Martina: She wanted to sing on the show.

I think we should have let her. (Martina laughs) But your acceptance speech was just so sincere that... You know, you... you... As thrilled as you were, it really was great for your husband for you to win the CMA Award.

Martina: Yeah... You know, every year that we get nominated for an award and... and if we don't win, he's so disappointed and he's just crashed and I have to say "It's OK, it's OK, it's really OK." So this year was... it was nice not to have to do that. (laughs) Just celebrate together.

Do you have any feelings as you get ready for this year's awards? Or you just don't think too much about it?

Martina: I really don't think to much about it. I... I have had a... It was a dream come true for me, obviously, and the thrill... Probably the highlight of my career. So I just enjoy this year so much and, you know, don't think about what's gonna happen.

I was talking about the girls, we mentioned Emma... Now Delaney just started school, she's gonna start kindergarten.

Martina: Kindergarten. She started school last Thursday.

Yeah? And how is that then, mom?

Martina: It's been great!

Come on now, come on!

Martina (laughs): OK, we're all tired! We're all so tired. Yeah, we... You know, we had a musicians hours pretty much and... and so her little body clock is used to going to bed about eleven and sleeping til ten or eleven in the morning, which is great for her mom, but now, you know, going to bed at eight o'clock and getting up at seven o'clock, so... When we spent the first week, we were (...) (they both laugh) I mean she'd (...) "I'm so tired, mommy, I'm so tired." So, you know, we have to squeeze in the naps and keep moving our bedtimes around until we can find a magic (...) But she's getting used to it now.

You know, it's been a year since the release of Emotion? I don't know if you've kept up with that, but it was September last year that the album came out. It's gone gold and there it is, "There You Are". People can get it an TNNonline.com. Now go to website tonight and get Martina's album. And "There You Are", the new single.

Martina: Yeah.

Now you're just making it happen, huh?

Martina: Well, it's... I'll tell you, anything thst happens from here or now, it's just icing on a cake. I'm just... I'm just having a great time.

Oh tell me about the IMAX movie. And your role is Patsy Cline.

Martina: Yeah. Well, there is a movie about the history of country music... An IMAX movie that's coming out... I don't know when it's coming out, do you?

No.

Martina: I don't know either.

I just found out that I'm gonna be in the same that you're in.

Martina: You're gonna be with me, that's right!

Yeah.

Martina: Yeah. I'm portraying Patsy Cline in the fifties, around the time she was (...) for talent show. And gonna be doing "Walkin' After Midnight", which we're gonna do on the show tonight.

How great!

Martina: Yeah, I'm... I mean it's an unbelievable honor to be... To get to portray her and sing that song.

And you're also gonna be... Quickly before we go, you're gonna be singing on a Cristi Yamagucci performance (...) skating television?

Martina: Yeah, I'm not... I'm not sure of the airdate on that, it's sometime in the... the last, the last week of November I think. But it's a great thing that we're gonna be able to do that, out in California.

It's great to be with you.

Martina: Good to be with you, too.

Martina McBride, my special guest!
