'Well I'm in a Christmas spirit and since I've sang about every other song I know here on the Opry, I thought it might be different and fun to do some Christmas music for you all tonight. So I wanna do a song that just gets me in the spirit every year when I hear it and this features the (...) singers helping me out back there.

"Well I'm so glad to be here and I decided tonight that I was gonna sing a couple of Christmas songs, because I just love Christmas music and I'm very much in the Christmas spirit this year. How about you all? Are you in the Christmas spirit? (the audience applauses) So we're gonna do a song right now... This is gonna feature the (...) singers, they're gonna help me on this one. Every time I hear this song, every year it just puts me right there in the Christmas spirit. It's called 'The Christmas Song.'"
