But the poor creature just can't sing. Bless her heart she really tries but she gets so carried away with her movement her sounds come out soft, and a little squeaky. But her heart is in the right place and that's all that counts in my book. "Special Duties" If at all there could be a bird of choice you are it If at all there could be a bird of love you are it If at all there could be a bird of playfulness you are it If at all there could be a bird of silence you are not it Upon my arm you sit and cheer sounds of wonder to my ear I hold no grudge for you don't know how that tune should actually go You chirp and screech just to sing A song familiar you poor thing It's playing in A and your in B I don't think singing is your cup of tea Your feathered friends won't sing along If you continue to sing it wrong So instead of singing lets take a chance to show them all how well you dance All your rhythm is in your feet dancing and bobbing to their singing beat How pleasant it is to finally see When their playing in A you can dance in B When old McDonald strikes up the band the sounds of quack quack you understand Now instead of singing somewhere off key You tap your feet counting 1,2,3 It's very obvious even with birdies Everyone is blessed with special duties Some can sing while others only listen To know the difference is life's wisdom No you are not and never shall be Silent from sound but I agree If screeching is your only way to converse Could we take some lessons in singing first ;) "Special Duties" Author: Judy H (Taylor Tears) copyright Š 1998, 1999, 2000 The poem and content on this page are not to be used without my written consent.
