This
is a whimsical little spell to help you find the perfect pet... not necessarily
a "familiar," but a sweet loving animal companion.
Although this is called "puppy love," don't think it's limited to
helping you find a dog for your pet. This is another spell of mine that
was published under the name "Kerowyn
SilverDrake"
in "The Salem
Witches' Book of Love Spells," by Lilith McLelland.
1) A small heart-shaped I.D. tag

| to find a loving pet |
to contact your
intuitive faculties |
to promote friendship |
Then anoint the candle with the
vanilla oil while chanting:
Dragons of Power Dragons of
Light,
Dragons of Wisdom, Dragons of
Might,
Lend me your magic, lend me
your aid,
Lend me your guidance, as this
spell is made!
Place the candle back in its
holder and light. Surround the candle with the treats in a heart shape and
call on the assistance of your Dragon friends by chanting 3 times:
Truly sees you Dragon eyes all
that dwells beneath the skies.
Help me separate from the rest
that special pet that suits me best!
Step 2: Write on the
paper a brief description of the qualities and characteristics of what you are
looking for in a pet: species, breed, age, gender then touch the four corners of
the paper with the vanilla oil and again call to your Dragon friends by chanting
3 times:
Truly sees you Dragon eyes all
that dwells beneath the skies.
Help me separate from the rest
that special pet that suits me best!
Place the paper inside the
treat-heart in front of the candle.
Step 3: Pick up the tag
and paint the above three runes on the back side of it and once more chant 3
times bringing the total number of chants to 9:
Truly sees you Dragon eyes all
that dwells beneath the skies.
Help me separate from the rest
that special pet that suits me best!
Place the tag on top of the paper inside the treat-heart and
leave until the candle burns itself out (or down to the socket). When this
is done scoop up the treats (being careful to discard any that may have wax or
oil on them) instead of placing them back into the bag they came from, place
then in a separate bag. These will be the first think you feed you new
friend when you bring him/her home.
Close the circle if you cast
one, and, as always, thank your Dragons for their assistance.
Now, when you go looking for
your pet, take the tag with you and hold it in your receptive hand (opposite of
the one you write with). As soon as you encounter the pet best suited for
you will receive some sort of signal from the tag. Some people feel a
sense of warmth, some a tingling sensation... but don't worry, you'll recognize
the signal when it comes.
