The Problem
We have had a leak in the master bedroom shower since we moved in. I tried to stop the leak with various pastes and compounds to no avail. So we stopped using that bathroom for showering.Here is what it looks like (if you see in collage).
It's a typical design for when the house was built. We've seen worse.
Lots of tile. Confetti floor.
The Fix
We finally decided to fix the shower. We were originally told that the trap would need to be replaced. This meant that a one foot circle of tile around the drain would need to be torn out to get it out and put a new one in.Then we were told the whole lead shower pan would need replacement. This meant tearing out the entire shower floor and one foot up the walls of the shower. Gut the shower.
While we were at it, we thought we'd replace the old musty ceiling tiles below in the rec room.
