Karen, relieved that they left, needs to talk to Jack, who was instantly attracted to the mini muffins that were in the office. Karen beats around the bush, and first explains that it was Stan's birthday a couple of weeks ago and she had forgotten to get him a gift. You can guess what happened next, and Karen leaves that part out to get straight to the point of her story: She thinks she might be pregnant.
Yes...she's serious.
BOBBI'S VOICE (LEAVING A MESSAGE): Hi, Grace. You should change your message. Have a little fun, like... (SINGING) We're Will and Grace and we're not home so leave a message on the phone, scooba do ba-zap do wah, oh yeah. (TALKING) Oh, I just made that up. Anyhoo... I'm coming to the Grand Apple for a few days--
KAREN: Well, actually, it's kind of a funny story. A few weeks ago it was Stan's birthday, and I forget to get him a present. I mean, how am I supposed to remember something like that?
GRACE: Yeah. This would be us 3 weeks in: "Honey, I'm having an affair."
BOBBI: What's the matter with you, Will? How could you not marry my daughter?

Summary: For one brief moment, all is calm for Grace Adler. Jack is over, and has brought the movie "Star Wars" with the explanation that he will collect information to put on the internet that will prove that C-3PO is a gay robot. A conversation on gay robots is interrupted by a phone call. They let it go to the answering machine, which makes Grace freak out. Her mother is the one who called. And she is coming to town.
Stuck in panic mode, Grace recruits Will to help her prepare for her mother's visit, knowing that she is going to criticize something. Will assures her that everything will be fine as he opens the door after hearing a knock to reveal Bobbi Adler, Grace's mother. Grace and Bobbi share an embrace, while Bobbi tells Grace that she looks great, followed by a comment to change the shoes.
Grace takes her mother to the office where Karen meets Bobbi. It is here that Bobbi makes the suggestion to Grace that she and Will should get married, claiming that it would work because they are good friends. The suggestion is laughed off, and Grace and Bobbi get ready to leave when Jack enters, and Bobbi meets him. Their encounter makes Grace want to leave even more, and they finally do.
Back at Will and Grace's apartment, Will, Bobbi, Karen and Jack are playing poker (or, in Karen's case, Gin) when Will offers to get drinks. Karen's original order is a martini, but is forced by Jack to have a ginger ale. This leads to a series of "charades" between Karen and Jack, and Karen reveals that she doesn't want to take a pregnancy test. Grace enters and tells Will about her mother's marriage suggestion, which gets a laugh out of everyone. Will declares that he wouldn't marry Grace even if he was straight.
Grace can't let go of this remark, and Will explains that in relationships, it tends to be all about her. His comments remind her of her mother, and Grace is now in fear of becoming like Bobbi. Bobbi takes the time to have a heartfelt conversation with Grace, and reassures her daughter that her love life is perfectly fine, and that there is no need to worry.
Back at Grace Adler Designs, Jack and Karen await the results of both (yes, both) of their pregnancy tests. Jack's is negative, obviously, and as far as Karen...her pregnancy test is negative as well. Even though she says she's fine, Jack can tell that she's upset. Before leaving and despite the fact that it's not of the norm for Karen, Jack gives her a hug and tells her, "I love you." Their story ends when Karen, now alone, calls Stan's kids just to talk to them.
GRACE: (SIGHS) It's the Big Apple.
BOBBI'S VOICE (LEAVING A MESSAGE): I'll see you when I get in. Bye!
JACK: Who the hell was that nut?
JACK: Right.
KAREN: Anyway, long story short, I think I might be pregnant. Heh heh. Oh...
JACK: Oh, Karen, I-- I... I hope you don't forget my birthday.
WILL: "Me, too."
GRACE: "His name is Donald."
WILL: "Me, too!"
WILL: Um...I'm gay (SPELLS "G-A-Y" IN SIGN LANGUAGE).
~The title of this episode is a play of "The Unsinkable Molly Brown," a movie which starred Debbie Reynolds.
