Summary: It's Will's birthday and the gang celebrates at a restaurant, but are given lousy service all night. When Grace finally complains to the manager, the waited ends up getting fired. Despite Karen's delight at Grace getting the waiter fired, Grace feels so guilty about it, she hires him to help at work. He takes this as an opportunity to start selling pot to eager buyers, using the code "ottoman". But when Grace finds out about it, she fires him, much to Karen's dismay.

Meanwhile, Will uses his birthday gift from Grace: a certificate to get a reading done by Psychic Sue. Will arrives and is skeptical when she mentions a "trip" and "China", and then tells him about a strawberry-blond female he loves. But after Grace "trips" and breaks her "China" dishes, and Will gets a package with his strawberry-blond coated female dog's collar in it, he rushes back to Sue, wanting another reading to do with his love life.

However, when Sue predicts that he will spend the rest of his life with "Just Jack", he is devistated and starts trying to avoid Jack. When Jack finally confronts him about it, Will tells him what Sue said. Both are repullsed at the idea, but realize that, with Jack's dating rules, they would basically be living the same way they are now.

Later that night at dinner, Will and Grace are upset with Jack, who has been attached to his Cher doll ever since he "gave" it to Will for his birthday. They leave him and "Cher" in the restaurant. At that moment, the real Cher approaches Jack, asking him about his obsession. But Jack believes Cher is just a female impersonator...and a poor one at that. After coaching Cher on how to be more like herself, Cher tells him to get a life, slaps him, and leaves. At that point, Jack faints, realizing that it was Cher.

Did You Notice...
~We learn more about Karen's mother, when Karen reveals that she had her mother commited against her will.
~The Cher doll Jack is seen with throughout the show is a real doll marketed by Mattel. The doll's appearance was part of a collaboration between NBC, the producers and writers of "Will & Grace", Mattel and Ketchum Entertainment Marketing, a branch of Ketchum public relations. Mattel arranged for the sitcom to use a $60,000 prototype of the doll. The creators of the doll hoped to gain the appeal of the audience they feel will purchase the doll: gay men. The doll used on the show once rested in "Will & Grace" co-creator Max Mutchnick's office and apparently is now owned by Sean Hayes, who got it from Cher who was impressed with his Cher impression.
~Watch closely at the table behind Cher when she meets Jack. The man with the brown hair is actually the late Kevyn Aucoin, Cher's close friend and personal favourite makeup artist. He came with Cher to the set and she begged to give him a spot in the background.
~The title of this episode is a play on a famous Cher song, "Gypsies, Tramps, and Theives"
~Camryn Manheim is a good friend of Debra Messing's. She claims that, while at Debra's wedding with all the people from 'Will & Grace' there, she "kissed their ass and asked for them to put me on the show and they did".
~Grace says Karen had a UPS guy fired because "brown is over". This is also what Karen told Will of his suit in the season 1 episode, "The Object Of My Rejection".
