Summary: While out to dinner with their soon-to-be married friends, Joe and Larry, Grace insists on her and Will paying the bill, then makes Will pay for the whole thing. This comes after she made him pay for her dry cleaning and she also makes him pay for the coats and the tip. Will decides he's had it with Grace spending his money and decides to teach her a lesson by buying a gift for Joe and Larry and not letting her sign the card.
Meanwhile, Jack has become addicted to coffee after becoming hooked in order to see a cute coffeshop employee. Karen sees this and gets him to quit when she agrees to give up coffee with him. But it's not that easy for Jack. He even goes as far as trying to swipe coffee flavoured ice cream from Will and Grace's fridge, but Karen chases him away.
The ride to Joe and Larry's union is a rough one. Grace had to make do with using a piece of art she made when she was 12 as a gift for the couple, which Karen proceeds to use as an ashtray. Grace also isn't happy with Will, and Jack and Karen are going through coffee withdrawl and both are freezing.
When they arrive, Grace immediately feels stupid for bringing such a lame gift and decides to sign the card despite what Will says. Will then tells Grace that he doesn't want a wife.
Jack and Karen, meanwhile, find out that there is no alcohol at the union but there is a full coffee bar. The two start to lose it and engage in a slap-fest, but eventually agree that they can only get through this if they support each other. So they decide to distract themselves by touching each other inappropriately.
As the wedding begins, Will and Grace bicker about Grace's spending and Will's comment. But when they are asked to say their reading to the couple together, they realize how stupid their fight has been. After the wedding, Will admits that he was just going through a pre-midlife crisis. Meanwhile, Karen finds some alcohol and Jack meets a cute cigarrette smoker and starts that habit.
