Summary: It's Thanksgiving Day and Will & Grace's plans for a simple dinner without their families is ruined when Grace feels compelled to visit her mother, who recently lost the part in a play, and Will insists on visiting his mother while his father is away "on business". Jack and Karen are soon included in the trips, as Jack's stepdad wants to meet Elliot and Karen needs to visit Stan in jail. So the four set out to spend one hour at each location, making it home in time for dinner. Rosario is left to baste the turkey.
First stop, prison. Karen has a rather short meeting with Stan, who has told her to cheat on him, as he may be in prison for a while. This leaves Karen feeling both amorous and hurt.
Next stop, Grace's mother's place, where Grace warns the others not to reveal her breakup with Nathan to Bobbi, who she knows will do her "I told you so" dance. Jack ends up spilling the beans to Bobbi in an attempt to make her feel better. It does, but it makes Grace feel horrible and she leaves after telling her mother that she can't act.
The four pick up Elliot on the way to Jack's stepdad's hotel. When they get there, Jack is hurt by how fatherly his stepdad is with Elliot, as he never got that kind of affection as a child. He's just about to tell his father how he feels when his time runs out and the five leave.
Last on the list of stops is Will's mother's place. There he greets his brother Paul, who claims that he has to leave early. This ruins Will's plans of having to leave early, as neither want to leave their mother alone on Thanksgiving, and soon the two brothers are arguing. Will's mother hears this and insists that Will leaves and Paul stays.
Meanwhile, Karen's newfound freedom to have sex with anyone she wants leads her to start seducing a plumber, but she only gets as far as kissing him before the guilt of being married sets in.
During all this, Rosario has been nibbling away at the turkey, which now has a huge hold in it that she hastily covers with greens. Just as the foursome are about to eat dinner, they all reveal how horrible they feel and Rosario insists they all go and make ammends with the people who they've hurt or who've hurt them. They give themselves a time limit of only two minutes each.
Karen goes to the prison and tells her husband that she doesn't want to cheat on him, and that she loves him. Grace apologizes to her mother, and tells she sometimes feels that Bobbi loves being right more than her. Bobbi tells her she's wrong and promises never to do the "I told you so" dance again.
Jack tells his father how hurt he was about his behaviour with Elliot. His father admits that he was a lousy parent, and now wants to start getting to know his son better. Jack accepts this and says he wants to get to know him, too.
Finally, Will asks his mother why she chose Paul to stay rather than him, as he always thought he was her favourite. She insists that she has no favourites and that the reason she asked Will to leave was because she didn't want Paul to be hurt about not being made to stay. She says that she's fine spending Thanksgiving alone, and is going to spend the time going through several of her husband's best suits to donate to the Salvation Army.
With all their problems behind them, the famished four head off to finally enjoy their family-free Thanksgiving dinner. Unfourtunately for them, Rosario has already finished the meal for them and is sleeping on the couch with a drumstick in her hand and a smile on her face.
