My friends Patty and Gene Kyle own 10 acres on a little island called
Hesketh in the Ketchamak Bay, just south of Homer, Alaska. In my
first trip up there with them and my father, in 1997, we built a pre-fab
shed and a tent platform and carved a trail through the vegetation.
It was a lot of work, and a lot of fun and I came home sick as a dog!
This past May I went back up there with them, my father and step-mother
and repaired the tent platform and helped dig a small hole the Kyles
hope will become a mini-well. We, of course, took lots of photos while
we were there, and a few are available for you to see. The sunsets off
the beach were magnificent. We couldn't even hope to catch their true beauty!
