This is my new sister Sophie. Like me, she is positive for feline leukemia. And she has another "special need"--she cannot hear. So she really needs me and mom to take care of her. We adopted her from a wonderful "no-kill" shelter in Dillsburg, PA--the Helen Krause shelter. They take care of lots of kitties with special needs--they have other leukemia cats and cats with FIV and cats with other special needs. Sophie didn't get along very well with the other leukemia kitties and she was not happy there. She doesn't like other kitties very much. Now she lives with us and we take care of her. She can be grumpy sometimes and at first she didn't like me very much, but eventually I won her over--since I am very charming!! Now she loves Mom and I , and her new home.
She knows she is loved and cared for. |
