Grindstone of Glory

Catchy Start

The story below is bare. Use the other techniques we practiced so far to make it better.

You also must create a catchy start that will build the conflict as early as possible. You may also use classical start to give more appeal.

A kugon boasted to a Narra tree, “Well, I am much better than you are. We grew up together, but now after one week, I’m so much taller than you. Poor little Narra tree.”

But the Narra tree simply bowed his head and ignored the haughty grass.

Then, years had passed and the grass eventually found itself straining its neck just to look at the sturdy trunk of the Narra tree.

“What happened? Why are you so tall and I’m so small?” The grass asked.

“Well, you see, you’ve got speed, and I got persistence.”
