Grindstone of Glory
Dialogues
A
good dialogue suggests the protagonists’ attitudes. Here’s a story’s gist.
Improve it by adding dialogues that portray the attitude of each character. Develop
it into a full-blown story using other necessary details.
There
was a king who had many sons. One day, he decided to select who would be the
crowned prince, the one who would ascend the throne after him
He
summoned the three he is fondest of.
The
first, haughty and proud, claimed all glory for himself, was turned into a
river that would reflect day and night the glory that is shone upon it.
The
second, self-conscious and shy, was turned into a mountain – to thrust into the
heavens and to stand proud before everyone to show the regal tradition of his
ancestry.
The
third – a person, neither haughty nor self-conscious but always for the king’s
command, always in his service – was crowned prince.
