Grindstone of Glory

Encapsulating

State the gist of the following stories in one sentence.

1.        Cinderella

2.        Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

3.        The Three Little Pigs

As an example, I encapsulate Aesop’s Story of Icarus this way: The story is about a young man who flew too high until his wings fell apart plunging him to his death.”

This summary is conservative, but that’s what we want here – a very short abstract of the story. The details may change to suit the audience’s age, culture, or the purpose of the storytelling.

It’s not by chance that the story of Icarus the kite can be summarized as “The story is about a kite that flew too high till the string snapped and the kite fell to its destruction.”
