Eyebrows Issues

Eyebrows communicate too; and at times they are more fluent than the mouth.

There was a time when I nearly despaired with my audience’s lukewarm attitude towards my story – I already had stretched the story by going through several cycles and yet to no avail.

That was then that I discovered the magic of the eyebrows. Towards the end of the story I began prompting them with questions like “ what do you think is it?” “Do you believe that?” using my eyebrows.  The result was a dramatic increase in the audience silent participation and excitement for the story’s outcome.

A raised eyebrow would also show excitement; a frowning eyebrow, doubt. Have you ever reprimanded an erring lover or friend with a raised eyebrow? Or interrogated your teenager with it?  Don’t they make the person uneasy?

If you haven’t tried this or unwilling to do so, at least learn it for the sake of art and effectiveness. A mirror will help you hone the skill. And this skill can be another ace in your sleeves as a storyteller.
