Sweet Swan of Avon is English Serenata's show about Shakespeare and England which was broadcast on prime-time Saturday night Czech TV (with Czech subtitles)! John Nettles tells the story of theatre and town life in the market town of Stratford-upon-Avon from Shakespeare's birth to present day performances of the Royal Shakespeare Company. Interlude music for Shakespeare and for the great Stratford jubilee by British composers are interspersed with words by the bard himself and amusing theatrical anecdotes. The CD recording of the music for this show has received the highest acclaim.
