Daniel & Ellie became the
proud parents of a baby boy at 1.30 a.m. on Saturday, 10th June 2006.
An excited Daniel was there at the
birth despite having to make the long journey to the hospital after
appearing on stage at the Birmingham Rep on Friday evening. They have
named the baby Raferty.

Daniel Casey was born on 1st June 1972 and grew up in Stockton-on-Tees. He is the son of North East TV presenter Luke Casey. After joining a youth theatre at 14 he decided that he wanted to make a career in acting. Despite having a place at Durham University studying English he was tempted away to go on tour in an award-winning play 'Dead Fish'. It was whilst in this show that he was spotted by a casting agent and was offered the part of Anthony Cox, a young policeman in the highly acclaimed BBC production 'Our Friends in the North'.
After this Daniel went on to work in 'The Bill', 'A Touch of Frost', 'The Grand' and played Robbie Felton in the Catherine Cookson mini-series 'Wingless Bird'.
Daniel married Ellie, part of the EastEnders costume team, last October and they are living in Ealing. Their first child is due any day now and Daniel is very excited about the baby. He is currently staying with John Nettles during the rehearsal and performance period for On The Piste. Despite leaving 'Midsomer Murders' Daniel still remains firm friends with him.
