MIDSOMER MURDERS
DEAD LETTERS
The new film, Dead Letters, has
two guest stars who have appeared in Midsomer before. Elizabeth
Spriggs plays Ursula Gooding, lookalike sister of the grotesque Iris
Rainbird she played in the first-ever episode, The Killings at
Badger's Drift, with Richard Cant returning to create the role of
Alistair Gooding, cousin of vile undertaker Dennis Rainbird whom he
played previously. Barnaby is convinced he has seen them somewhere
before, but knows the Rainbirds were brutally murdered.
Midsomer Barton is celebrating Oak Apple week when
tragic mother Marion Slade is found drowned. It looks like suicide,
driven by grief for her dead daughter, a former carnival queen.
Barnaby investigates and is shaken by two villagers who look like
murder victims from his past. When another body is found, it appears
the festivities have stirred up a cocktail of adultery, contempt,
unrequited love and revenge lurking within the village.
