John appeared in the last episode
of the current series of Heartbeat, playing a dodgy cattle market
auctioneer. Thankfully for the Heartbeat production team, the cattle
scenes were filmed before the foot and mouth crisis took hold of the
country. So even though it was of little comfort to the nation's
farmers, the episode was screened on Sunday 8th April.
