EDUCATION OFFICER
I found this in the book The World Of Ballet by Judy Tatchell
Many theatres and all ballet companies have education departments. A job as an education officer involves varied work, dealing with the public and often with school children.
Education officers promote an understanding of dance to the public. They do this be devising projects, running workshops and preparing information packs and videos. They also present lecture demonstrations and take part in residencies, when they go into schools or colleges to help students create and present a performance.
Those who work in this field often have an academic dance background, having studied for a dance degree. Others, though, may have been students at ballet school and ex-professional dancers.
