Rolton's Song....

I sing to you, of Roltons, true,
I've been pestered long enough!
To tell a tale of their Tails,
My earlier song, Hmmph! Not enough!

Adhara had a wee Rolton,
It's fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere Adhara went,
the Rolton e'er did go.

But you say, "a Rolton's Mean!"
"T'would bite her, don't you see?
I tell you now, twas not always true,
This, my story, is how it came to be!

Cute and white and oh' so meek,
They were in AGES past.
They'd cuddle with you all night long
(back when Adhara was but a'wee lass.)

Picture this, an Idyllic night,
Cleric Adhara tends her flock.
Then tragedy struck it's fatal blow
Cleric and Rolton, snuggled on a rock.

A Monster reared it's ugly head,
Adhara leaped up to save the day!
But, her axe-swing fell not true.
Stunned, near death, the Rolton
     now did lay....

Now this was nae a common Rolton,
but our heroine know it not.
Until in a bright flash did appear,
the Rolton King on the spot!

He looked at her and shook his head.
What an awful roll of the dice!
You've harmed this? my only Son?
You must now pay the price!

You shall find now what it's like
to be a Rolton, now I say.
Furthermore, you shall serve as my Queen,
for an entire year, plus one day!

During her reign as Rolton Queen,
this much, we do know.
She waved her Crosier, gave'em Fangs!
And declared: Protect your Own!

She served them well,
She served them true....
Fanged, Avenging Rolton Queen!
     with her wiggly cotton-tailed look.
Surely a sight to be seen.

But what of her now?
Adhara, Queen of Roltons- near and far?
The King turned her back; her old self,
A cleric without par!

There is a whispered rumor though.....
A secret, hidden deep.
A remnant tail, fluffy white, 'neath her robes,
The Rolton king made her keep!

The Moral of my Ballade, Dear Hearts,
Pay heed and listen well!
Pester a Bard for a Song,
and your Secrets, soon he shall tell!

So hide your tales.. (and your tails)
I'll find them soon enough.
And when I do, that day you'll rue
(If I have to, I'll make it up!)

Long Live the Rolton Queen!
