Bennett Brewing Company

Around 1827 Charles Fox Bennett opened a brewery at Riverhead, St. John's. The brewery continued to operate for the next two decades and in 1883 its founder, Charles Bennett, died at the age of 91.

In 1885, the Riverhead Brewery was leased to Edward W. Bennett (no relation to Charles Fox Bennett). In 1902, John R. Bennett, purchased the brewery.

The brewery was purchased by Carling O'Keefe in 1962, which continued to operate it until recently.
