Why Me?

First the disclaimer thing. All the FY characters are not mine. They belong to Watase Yuu, and various other companies. If you have enough money to go around suing people for writing stories for no profit just send that money to me, and we?ll both be a lot happier.

I got the idea for this story from a dream I had one night. That should scare you in itself. I just found it very amusing as did some of my friends. I didn?t think much about it until one day I got bored, and being stuck on what to do with my other stories, decided to write some of it down. The rest is as follows...

I hate math. I really do. It was pouring down rain, the perfect weather for taking a math test in my opinion. Especially since I?d more than likely failed the stupid thing. I got back to my dorm only to discover that all three of the elevators were broke. Wonderful. That left me hiking up ten flights of stairs with a bookbag loaded with about 60 pounds of books and notebooks. All in all, this was starting out to be a really crappy day.

I finally got to the tenth floor only to discover that the soda machine had decided to go for a walk. Probably into one of elevators like last time. I was thirsty, but a drink was not worth going out into the rain for. I walked down the hall, and was about to open the door to my suite when I realized my keys were sitting in the room. Crap. I stood there and banged on the door until one of my suite mates took pity on me and let me in.

The suite mate in question picked up her bags and left for the weekend. Looked like it was going to be another lonely weekend with no one around. I walked to my door and turned the knob. It was going to be locked. My roommate had already left for her house, and I didn?t even know why I was bothering to try. Imagine my surprise when the door turned out to be unlocked. Finally. A bright spot of good luck in an otherwise miserable day. If I hadn?t been so cold and wet (my umbrella had disappeared... again) I would have realized how unusual it was for my room to be unlocked. Instead I just walked right on in like an idiot.

The first thing I noticed was the large hat sitting on the floor. The second thing I noticed was the guy sitting on my bed, and another in the chair at my computer. The smart thing to do at this point would have been to run. Or scream. Or even just turn around and leave the room. Instead I had to stand there and gape long enough for the guy sitting at my computer to haul me further into the room, and shut the door behind me. The clicking of door is what finally brought me to my senses.

"What the Hell do you think you?re doing?" I snapped as I jerked my arm from the red-headed guy who had drug me into the room. This was bad. I seriously doubted my roommate had let these two guys into my room. The red-haired guy backed away. He hadn?t been hurting me or anything, it was just that I didn?t like to be touched. Especially not by strange guys sitting in my room.

"Gomen nasai. My name is Chichiri and my friend there is Tasuki. We didn?t mean to intrude, no da. We don?t know how we got here, and..." I hadn?t been listening that closely to the guy sitting on my bad, and I know he kept talking but I wasn?t listening again. As soon as I heard the "no da" I took a closer look at my guests. The guy sitting on my bed had real pretty pale gray-blue hair and a scarred left eye. He wore a loose shirt, a dark purple-blue blanket over one shoulder, and a necklace of small red and large green beads. In other words, Chichiri was sitting in my room on my bed.

Which the made me look at the guy I?d snapped at. It had to be Tasuki. He had the red hair (which looked a lot better than I thought it would in real life), the black coat with the blue trim, the several beaded necklaces, and everything. He even had the earrings. And the holder for the tessen strapped to his back.

I just collapsed onto the floor at that point. I put my head in my hands and asked one simple question. Why me? Not that I didn?t appreciate the fact that there were two cute guys now sitting in my room that the entire FYML would die to have appear in their room. It?s just that I have this practical streak in me that was asking what the Hell was I going to do now? Thank God that my roommate went home every weekend. I really didn?t want to have to drag her into this fiasco.

"You?re not fucking crying are ya?" asked someone. That would be Tasuki. I actually liked the way his voice sounded. It was kind of soothing in an odd sort of way. Taking a deep breath, I shook my head no and attempted to get to my feet. My legs were still a little shaky, but with Tasuki?s help I managed.

"No, I am not crying. Just a little... stunned is all. My name is Susan. How did you get in my room?" I said proud that my voice only wavered a little bit. I was glad that these two were speaking English. My knowledge of Japanese was zip to none.

"We were hoping you could tell us that Susan-san. One minute we were in the palace at Konen, the next we were here, no da," Chichiri said with a motion that indicated my room. Of course. There couldn?t be a simple rational explanation why two FY characters were sitting in my room. It had to be something vague and mysterious.

"What the fuck is that?" Tasuki yelled as he got a good look at the FY wall scroll hanging from the wall. Chichiri had probably been wondering the same thing because the bed was right across from it. There was no way he could have missed it. Tasuki on the other hand had been sitting in my computer and hadn?t noticed it. I really didn?t want to have to explain to them that they were anime characters. I didn?t think they would understand or appreciate it.

"It?s a... um... a... well it?s a picture of all of the Suzaku and some of the Seiryuu seishi to... um... make sure that their story will...ah, never be forgotten," I managed to get out. Some how I don?t think the monk was buying it. Or Tasuki for that matter. It was the best I could come up with on the spur of the moment. "I have no idea how you two got here, but I think I know some people who can help. I?m going to call them up, and then... I?ll get you guys something to eat or something."

Tasuki moved out of the way long enough for me to get to the phone. It was a small miracle that it hadn?t rung yet. I had a feeling that I would have wound up with phone flambe courtesy of Tasuki if it had. My offer to get food was partly because there were going to some more people in my room and there was nothing in the fridge, and partly so I could get away from people and make sure I wasn?t having a nervous breakdown.

I dialed Sarah?s number and waited. She picked up on the third ring. Tasuki had wandered over to see what I was doing, and Chichiri had resumed his place on my bed.

"Hello."

"Uh, Sarah. I need you to come over here as soon as possible. There?s some people I would like you to meet. Could you hold on a minute...," I said then covered the mouthpiece to hiss at the red-haired bandit. "Tasuki don?t you dare touch my computer."

"Sure. I?m waiting for Casey to call. She?s staying the weekend remember? Can she go over too, or do you need me to go over right now?" Sarah said in concern. "Is everything all right?"

"Fine. Everything?s fine. Yes, bring Case over when she gets there, hold on," I said and again covered the phone so Sarah wouldn?t hear. "I swear fang boy you hurt my computer and you die."

"I hear voices. Are those the people you want me to meet? Who are they?"

"Yes, that would be them. It?s kind of a surprise. So just get here as soon as you can with Casey, okay. Everything is under control. Bye."

"Why were talking into that thing, no da?" Chichiri asked confused.

"It?s a communication device. I can speak through this end and people can here me on their?s. And vice versa. It?s... magic," I said quickly. Tasuki looked confused, and Chichiri nodded wisely.

"It means that Susan-san could explain it to us, but we probably would not understand. Right, no da?"

"That would be correct. Look, I?m going to go get some food. Don?t touch anything. Don?t let anyone in unless it?s me. Don?t touch anything. I?ll be back in a little while," I said as I backed out of the room praying that Tasuki would leave my computer alone. I locked the door with my keys, and began heading to the campus store. This was really not my day.

There it is! Hopefully, the other parts will get written soon. But don't hold your breath. I have alot of other stuff going on all at once.

Why me?, based on a dream.
