Why is this HP called "Gaijin love Rika-chan"?
Gaijin is a Japanese word that means foreigner. Well, that's me. I'm an American, (Californian, actually) therefore gaijin. Over the past year, I have found more gaijin who love Rika!
We are in USA, England, Ireland, Scotland, Indonesia, Canada, China, Germany, in Mexico, and Romania! We are all over the world and
WE LOVE RIKA-CHAN!!!
It was summer of 2002, I discovered Takarazuka quite by accident while following a manga tangent. Next thing I know, I was surfing the English Takarazuka websites. Then I found myself purchasing three Takarazuka videos. One of the videos was GUYS & DOLLS, starring Jun Shibuki as Sky Masterson! Well, my teeth almost fell out of my mouth!!! I have always been a fan of the musical GUYS & DOLLS, but in this production, Jun Shibuki's most believeable Sky Masterson totally blew me away! I wanted to see more of Jun Shibuki!
As I got to know more about Takarazuka, and using the online translater to translate the Japanese into English, I found there were several websites dedicated to Rika, but none were in English! I wanted to share Rika with the rest of the world that doesn't read Japanese.
Ok, what to expect here at this page dedicated to Rika-chan?
For starters, there are galleries for fan art of Rika and the other members of Tsukigumi. In addition to the art galleries, there will also be play reviews and synopsises, stories, and poetry, information about Rika, links to other websites that feature our beloved top star. Finally there are links to and Jun Shibuki and other Takarazuka websites.
So, if you are gaijin or Nihonjin, and want to add something to this website, please send leave a message in the guest book, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Who knows, you may get a whole page of your very own!
I have high expectations for this website, and I welcome any additions, thoughts and comments!
So, please sign my guestbook below.
Oh yeah, I gotta tell y'all something. Rika has not authorized this website.
I doubt if Rika even knows it exists.
Heck, Rika doesn't even know I exist.
*heavy sigh*

About Rika's concert: Lica-Rika/L.R
 Program from Rika's Concert
March 4, 2004
I purchased "Seal of the Roses" video last week. I wept through it show. I'm really gonna miss seeing anything new from Takarazuka without Rika. I got the Sayounara Show, too. I was going to wait until Rika retirement show from Tokyo on the 21st of this month, but I couldn't wait. It is wonderful, actually. Rika is alone in the rehearsal hall talking about her life at Takarazuka and clips are shown. This is about 2/3rds of the video. I'm glad I'm taking Japanese class now. I can understand some of it! Yaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy!!!
I'm not going to tell you anymore, unless you force me to. Rika gives a positive end to her stage career at Takarazuka. I'm glad I've got her videos. I will be able to watch her perform for years to come, even if I never get to go to Japan.

Rika's Lica-Rika/L.R concert is awesome!!! I have been watching it a lot! Rika is so talented! I loved the number in which Rika is wearing a pink suit and blond wig. Really comical!
Unfortunately they left out about 3 numbers that were in the program. I hate when they do that!

I gotta tell you about what Rika did in her Lica-Rika/L.R Concert? She goes out into the audience and singing "Somebody" and it is a really uptempo number. Members of the audience is handing her handkerchiefs to wipe her face with (something that began in her last dinner show), and she turns to return to the stage, then she goes up into the next level to just stand there for a moment. I had to rewind a few times to see what she was doing. I finally got it after the 3rd rewind! There was a kid who was in total delight looking at Rika, and Rika stood there for a moment with a big grin on her face just for that kid! WOW!!! Rika that kid something so extremely special that she will treasure and remember forever! Rika is totally awesome, not only as a dancer, actress, entertainer, but as a human being! Very thoughtful. I am going to miss new videos of Rika. I can only hope she does a lot of shows on NHK that get to our TVJapan!
After watching the video of the concert, I came to see why Rika needs to leave Takarazuka. I've watched her grow as an actress and performer and see that she needs space to grow even more. Rika is becomming more than Takarazuka!!!
But please, Rika, don't give away your tuxedo tails, 'cuz, girl, you look awesome in those tails!!!
And, (big drum roll here, onigashimasu) Rika is going to be performing for Toho in July! YYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! You goooooooo, girl!!!

Rika Retirement Interview
August 4, 2003
Well, the official news has been published by Takarazuka. Rika-chan plans to hang up her necktie March 21st, 2004. She is going to retire from Takarazuka.
Ok, well, I'm happy for Rika. I wish her the best in her retirement. But, please, Rika-sama, stay in show business! Because a world without Rika will be a much sadder place!
Hey, maybe I'll win the lotto so I could go to Japan to see you before you retire!
Maybe I'll flap my arms and fly to the moon, too.
Sayounara Otokoyaku Rika-chan!
Ladies and Gentlemen, Otokoyaku Rika-chan has left the building!
