Archipelago News May 2008

Welcome to the latest news page. There is some exciting news and new works and artists to introduce.

Firstly ‘the Diver’ by the late John Skelton has been purchased by a public institution in the South East and will be unveiled later in the year as part of a special exhibition.  We will keep you posted on that story.

Work by the late Claire Ritson, a Scottish painter who died in 2005 in her late nineties, is now available at very competitive prices for such quality work. Her small gouache and mixed media studies proved very popular at the pre Christmas exhibition (thumbnails on this page). At the same exhibition both Michelle Wenden, Sheena Wilkie and Norman Rechter had further success in selling work.

We also have two oil paintings by Sheena new to us. There are both quite large and depict in a strongly expressionistic manner, athletes in a gymnasium. They are ideally suited to a more public display space and would suit a business in the Health and Fitness area. The price for the pair is exceptionally reasonable at £700.

We are making changes to our contact process and to the information on the artist’s pages.
The artists pages first: we are continuing to show a selection of pieces from each artist as indicative of their work, but individual pieces are not necessarily available you will need to enquire. Prices will be indicated by giving a range e.g.: from £40 - £90.
