There have been many times when I was alone. There was no one anywhere to be found. I had nothing to steady my teetering life or my trembling sanity. Then I realized that through music I would never be alone. That as long as there was music in my life I would always have a refuge. That no matter what I said or did music would never desert me. During this period of my life I discovered a band by the name of....KoRn. At first listen I had no clue what to make of this band. It was unlike any other band I had ever heard before. There were elements of nearly every musical genre known to man. There was funk, there was rap, there was punk, there was rock, and there was metal. It was and remains the most unique combination in the music industry, even though they have been blatantly ripped off by a number of other bands hoping to cash in on the new "trend". The band was at the forefront of a new movement. A revolution that went unoticed for a number of years. Little did the MTV and rock radio world know that this band was steadily building one of the largest most loyal fan following known to the music world. The fans couldn't go unnoticed for long however. There became too many of us. We simply could not be ignored any longer and niether could the band we loved and supported. In the last two and a half years, KoRn has skyrocketed to the top of the rock food chain and they continue to set new standards that their many counter-parts strive to reach. Through it all this band and its members have remained intensely loyal to those who had always been loyal to them. Korn is one of the few bands that talk to their fans and actually listen to what they think. Jonathan Davis, Brian "HEAD" Welch, Reginald "FIELDY" Arvizu, David Silveria, and James "MUNKY" Shaffer have always returned their fans intense loyalty with a love and respect more reminiscent of old friends than of fans and band. It is that friendship that has aided fans of all ages, genders, and ethnic backgrounds in making changes in their lives and helping many, including myself, in continuing to live their lives. So now I embark on another life journey and what remains my only constant in life? KoRN. For that I would like to thank them genuinly from the bottom of my hearts and the bowels of my very soul.
