not quite seeing
what was clearly there to see.

Encircled by fog,
i felt my self blind,
and my body numbed.

I was lost wandering,
trying to find something
that seemed impossible.

I felt my light dying slowly,
fading as an old lantern,
my light almost went out,
when no one could help me.

Not even you helped me then,
i set you on loop,
feeling i had no place to hide.

I remember the light fading,
your voice distorting,
and i realized i was dying.

The thought scared me,
and my body froze in fear,
i couldn't even cry,
but that could have been something else......

Your voice was the first thing i heard when i woke up.
