I see you staring straight at me,
Eyes so tired, scared, and old,
I want to hear your voice each second,
And let your words pour through my soul.
You saw the world the way it is.
You taught so many so many things.
So many have cried and listened to you,
So many have not died because of you.
The day I cried I heard your voice,
Crying at the same time I did.
You sang until your heart collapsed,
Healing me,
Telling me,
It was all right.
I look up to you, Jon.
You’re wonderful in every way.
I see you looking all around,
Dirty brown dreads flicking from side to side,
Angelic voice screaming out to the world,
Feet stalking across the ground.
When I see your face I laugh and smile,
Hoping you’d stay in front of my eyes a bit more.
The darkest of my days becomes lighter,
All just because of you.
Don’t ever leave,
Don’t ever go away.
‘Cause if you do, it’ll be hard for me to stay.
You’re my role model, Jon.
My teacher.
Mentor.
Friend.
You’ve made me better,
Made me strong,
I don’t know if I’ll ever meet you,
See you standing right in front of me,
But if I do, if I do get to meet you,
What I’d want to say,
All I could choke out,
Would be thank you, Jonathan Davis,
Thank you.
