Thor- The Thunderer
Thor is the Thunder god. He protected Asgrad, the home of the gods, from invasion by giants. He was the strongest of the gods, but also the least smart. He rode on his chariot drawn by two rams. Thor was also the god of the working man.
Thor was givin a hammer named Mjolnir that was made by the dwarves. Mjolnir was so powerful, Thor had to wear a steel gauntlet just to hold it. Thor could throw Mjolnir, and it would come back almost like a yo-yo.
Whenever Thor rode through the heavens, above the clouds, with his chariot, it was said thunder was caused by the rams' hooves. Lightning would be caused by Thor flinging Mjolnir for sport.
This rune, Thurisaz, was the rune of Thor.
Thor was a favorite of the peasant classes and peasants would wear pendants of Mjolnir. He still lives on, to this day (at least in comic books) as the legendary hero, Thor, no matter how flamboyantly he may be drawn
