Introduction
Welcome to the
Net's premiere (as in first -- I won't presume to say it's
the best) of the Joss Whedon's Fray webpage.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer has earned her place among the
great fictional characters in popular culture, but now from
the mind of Joss Whedon, comes a new cultural phenomenon,
and her
name is Melaka Fray. She is the slayer of the
26th
century, and she won the hearts of hundreds of beloved fans
around the world when she hit comic book stands in June
2001! In a world where vampires and monsters are unheard of,
Melaka is going to have a lot more work to do to train and
find out how to save the world from the forces of darkness,
unlike the all the previous slayers. As inventive in the
comics medium as in that of television or film, Whedon spins
a complex tale of a skilled thief coming of age without the
help of friends or family, guided only by a demonic Watcher.
Fray was an eight issue mini-series that ran from
2001 to 2003, delivered by Joss Whedon, Karl Moline, Andy
Owens, and Dave Stewart.
