Jozie's Experience at the Seattle House Show! April 15, 1999 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Scoop.... Okay!! Hi everyone!! I must say...I am not glad to be back :-( I had such a great time I wish it could have just continued and continued :-) I wish it was like the Grateful Dead and one could just tour around with them!!! Well, so much for wishful thinking. Now for the Show!!!.... So things started off quite well. Our little two door Neon wasn't in the rental lot so they gave us a sporty little black mustang!!!(...no speeding tickets there or back!!! Yeah!) We made it to Seattle just in time to check out the city a little before hitting the Debra & Jeff signing (which we actually found!! another sign it was going to be a good show). Just like in Vegas, Jeff and Debra were wonderful about allowing me to take a pic of them with my daughter!! Annie, I remembered to tell Jeff about the Derby. Apparently he hasn't forgotten about the Derby. He was very nice, very personable. So after that wonderful experience (not being sarcastic) we ran back to the car and dashed over to the Seattle Center to see if we could catch any of the wrestlers as they entered the arena. Many had already come in and their cars were just whizzing through, unlike in Vegas where they actually stopped for a moment and we were able to see them quite close. Here are some of the wrestlers we saw come in: Chyna & HHH; DOA; Debra; Jeff Jarrett; Big Boss Man; Kane (wearing a skymask and a white towel over his head); Mankind; Edge (this man cannot help but be gorgeous all the time) & Gangrel; Test; Jacklyn; hhhmmm, that is all that I can think of right now. The doors opened at 6:30. I think it was shortly after 7 that we decided to go into the arena. I bought an Undertaker Sipper and we went to search out our seats. We found them and sat for about ten minutes. They weren't very good seats (that's an understatement...they were literally the last seats in the house -- and I am terrified of heights so I was very queazy) so after about ten minutes I told my daughter that we should go look around. I needed time to think. Well, cut to the chase, we exchanged our ticket (plus a little extra money) for front row seats. Ironic, from the very last row to the very first. Well, since my daughter is only seven-years-old front row is perfect for that shorty. It was our second time front row!!!!! The people sitting next to us were very cool, not too rowdy, not too quiet, just perfect. So there we were front row and ready to go.... Well that rumor about the Blue Meanie and DOA being canned wasn't true according to Seattle action because they were all present and accounted for. Goldust was hysterical. He is much more sexual than I remember him being in the past. It seems more overt now, humping the rope of the ring, the rope of his robe, very overt. Liked his face paint, getting very creative there. Thank goodness they didn't do their humping on our corner of the ring. :-) Saved that for later!! The Al Snow and DiLo match was a lot of fun!! My daughter had brought her "head" from the Vegas show. She likes both AS and DL so, for her, it was hard which to pick. For me, Snow all the way!! The Godfather looked good!! It took me a long time to be okay with his act but now I'm more tolerant and able to play with it. So we loved it!! Hooted and howlered. Seattle's hoes are a little on the tame side if you ask me, and only two. (Vegas had great hoes...go figure..lol) The Brood was all together. Everything that went wrong was Christian's fault. I know the rumors are that either Edge and Christian, or Gangrel will be released from MOD, but it really seems like it's just going to be Christian who is released. Edge was flirting with a girl sitting 3 seats down from us in the same row (I now know her to be Andrea) so that she would take her pic. So we got a great view of him. A lot of the Broods moves were great. They are fun to watch. I have nothing good to say about BM and Test....Test really thinks he's the stuff....but....he is so NOT the stuff! The Rock....I'm sorry but I still hate him. My daughter tends to go back and forth with whether or not she likes him, but I've never liked him and I still don't. BUT....I loved singing along with him. Perhaps part of the fun is because he tells us not to. Yes, I realize this is reverse pychology on his part. But it was fun. We were very much going for the Big Show. At least in part because his music is very cool -- good enterance music! Surprisingly, this was a really fun match! HHH looked good. He got some overzealous kid kicked out...Funny. But he looked good, told the crowd where to go, repeatedly. Pulled Kane between the metal post right in front of us (we were on the isle right next to the vorner post). If my pics came out I should have a pretty good shot of this. Hey Dawny, if that pimple is more on Chyna's hip than on her ass, it's still there. Chyna looked great (excluding the previous comment, but no one is perfect). She is very focused. She wore those teeny little shorts that she's been wearing as of late, but had them unzipped just a tad and then folded down. Very cool, liked the suede-on-leather affect. The three way with the female wrestlers was fun. Ivory is good at working the crowd. She looked better than the other two women. Maybe because she looks more serious, less into her feminine attributes and more into her wrestling ways.... Ivory has the funniest expressions on her face in the match, very over-exaggerated, kind of perfect...playful, not serious, but fake serious Mankind was paired up with Shamrock. Yuk!! Hate Shamrock. Love Foley. Then they were up against the MOD/The Acolytes. I don't care for the A's. But it was hard not to vote for a part of the MOD. But, my longterm loyalty to Mankind won out!!! He looked great!! Surprisingly, the Hardcore match was pretty good. Actually it was quite good. I can't say that I care much for either Holly or Val, but they really put on a good show. My daughter kept screaming "Get the table". She was pleased as punch when the "Table" chant went around. Definately our kind of match up!! The best was definately saved for last (okay the second best...no UT :-( but this last match made it all better)... The last match was Jeff & Owen w/Debra against Dogg and BA. Well, we had just come from a really nice signing with Jeff and Debra so it was really hard to not want them to win (especially for my daughter because she has like JJ since she was 2 1/2 with all his white glitze and show: and she's loved Debra ever since she was the Queen of the WCW). For me, it was easier - outside of sentimental reasoning per our signing of a couple hours prior - to go for RD and BA. Both RD and BA spent quite a bit of time in our conrner. TWICE!!!!BA dropped his draws right in OUR CORNER!!! Just love that man!!! But before that he gave my daughter his water bottle!! What a sweetheart he was!! What a wonderful way to end a wonderful evening!! And of course, the Outlaws won it. (There were some kids sitting behind us in the second row with a sign the read "Fuck Rockabilly"...Boy did that get RD yelling at them..He was hot under the collar about that...) So we decided to stay an extra day so that we could meet Mick Foley. Things had been so perfect at the show, and before that, I wasn't really sure I wanted to do anything that could in any way bring it down, even a notch. But it was just another perfect day. There were only two hundred tickets passed out. We didn't know the set up so even though we had gone early we didn't bother inquirying about it. But remember Andrea from the night before. She was there and had an extra ticket!! So my daughter got the sign she made ("Foley is Good, not God) signed by him. He signed his name and added "Socko" which made her feel very special because the rest of us just got "Mick". I got pic of them and he talked to me. This was surprising because I feel more like the escorting figure at these things, than a real person. But he said that I looked like Martha Quinn. The name sounded familiar but I couldn't place it. He could tell by my look as I was walking away. He said she was one of the original MTV VJ's. Ahhh, now I knew who he was talking about. Huh, I thought. I looked. He said that it was a compliment. I said "I loved the show last night". Smiled, and walked away. Well, Brides. That's it!! That was the show!! Jozie BridePride |
