Declines to File Criminal Charges
in Owen Hart’s Death
On Friday the Kansas City District Attorney’s office announced that, after an extensive investigation into the death of Owen Hart, it would not be issuing criminal indictments. The World Wrestling Federation understands that the District Attorney’s office reached its conclusion after having the matter reviewed by an expert, which further supports the World Wrestling Federation’s belief as to the truly accidental nature of Owen Hart’s death.
In addition, OSHA recently closed its investigation into this matter without any further action. Owen Hart’s accident was one of those extremely unfortunate tragedies that sometimes occur despite the best of precautions. Owen will always be deeply missed by his friends and colleagues at the World Wrestling Federation.
