5 Days w/ WWF -- UT Tidbits · Main · Further Reading · Reply to this Message · Posted by MysticEvidence on 07/01/99 - 07:38:01 IP: 12.78.121.205 Browser: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows 95) Message Body I just returned after spending 5 days on the WWF's latest road trip, seeing some live shows (King of the Ring, Sunday's Heat, Monday's Raw, plus tapings for Shotgun, Super Astros, Heat, and Raw) and having multiple encounters with nearly every WWF personality (wrestlers, commentators, management, etc.). I haven't been posting lately, but last time I checked, everyone was still obsessing about Undertaker's health, popularity, and more, so I thought I'd update you on a few things. 1. If Undertaker is badly hurt, he sure doesn't show it, except when he's selling an opponent's move. The most serious "pain" he seemed to be nursing was some sun burn on his back. I think it's time for everyone to trust his health to him and stop believing every rumor you come across. While he is surely a dedicated performer, he is not stupid. He knows more than we do what his body can take; he's not sacrificing himself for our viewing pleasure. Leave it to him. He knows when he's too sore to perform. But for now, believe me, he moved around in and out of the ring like a healthy man -- tired and sore like most of his co-workers, but healthy. All of the attention everyone is putting on how hurt he seems could be causing more trouble than his body (ie, it comes across as complaints about his performances). 2. Even if you've seen the spoilers for next week's shows (especially Heat), you will still be VERY pleasantly surprised by the Undertaker's involvement. I don't want to spoil the surprises, unless someone asks me to, but let me just say that he does the best in-ring promo you can imagine, and his participation in the show is so frequent, so strong, and so terrific, that it might as well be called Undertaker Heat. You will all be very happy creatures, I promise. 3. As far as reactions of the crowds, Undertaker is so totally over as a heel, that it is truly amazing. His boos were often deafening and always the strongest, even though you could still hear the cheers from die-hard fans (like me). He is obviously having a ball playing the strong, fearsome, monster heel, and he clearly enjoys being in character all the time. Despite the fact that people are supposed to hate him, they "stalk" his every move -- second only to Austin, it seemed. Fear not...he is as important and famous as ever. 4. It seemed clear that he is treated like a king by his company. His dedication and importance appear to be appreciated and well-rewarded (deservedly so, of course). No one needs to pity him anymore -- even though I'm sure you're all angry that he no longer has the belt, that he always "almost" loses, and that he rarely wins cleanly. I hate that side of it too, but that's often the way of the heel. At least his character has been strengthened now, and I think this is bound to continue. I hope some of this has been interesting to you and puts some of your minds at ease. MysEv

Triple H to win WWF Heavyweight Title... but from whom and when?

Reported by Aaron Bingham on 6/29/99 Web posted at: June 29, 1999 at exactlly 14:49:56 Eastern

This comes from a VERY reliable source...

I am hearing, that at fully loaded, Triple H will sqaure off against the Undertaker in a #1 contenders match for a shot at the Heavyweight Title against Stone Cold Steve Austin at Summerslam.

At Summerslam, it is said, that Triple H will defeat Stone Cold Steve Austin for the Heavyweight Title, thus giving him his first WWF Heavyweight Title reign.

-It is most likely that The Undertaker will be the WWF champion around Summerslam, but if he isn't, the man who is champion will definitely be facing HHH, who is expected to win the WWF title at the 08/22 event.
