Jozie's Takin' Time For Taker ~ 8-17-99

Well hello again Creatures,

Two days ago, on 8-15-99, Jr. and I made our way to the crowded Taker signing. I don't know that I have too much to say about it. But here goes....

By the way, I think I'll also mention a few other tidbits that I may have forgotten to mention in the Foley post of a few days ago.

First, I was just at theundertaker.net and noticed that the main page had been updated. Thanks boys. My question at the Foley signing was not to Foley but to Brian Pulido (probably spelt wrong). I wanted to know when the main page would be updated. I was told by Brian that ChaosComics was in the final stages of negotations with WWF over the site so Chaos was just letting it sit 'til WWF picked it up. Thanks again for updating it!! It needed it and now it looks good!! I guess sometimes it's a good thing to ask.

Does that mean I totally neglected Foley, NOT A CHANCE. I just didn't have a question. I had a statement, which was that he was one of the only wrestlers Jr. and I agree upon and I let him know how much we appreciate what he does for us all.

Foley also said that if anyone wanted to see him in death matches to watch his videos.

Okay, Taker Time....

Well, geez, is there really anything to say...besides, that man is more gorgeous than any man has a right to be!!! No kidding!!! (Yes, I know, slap me like the fool I am.) In any case, he was wearing yellow glasses. LaFemmeNakita glasses. The kind my daughter wears a lot. Rectangular, very cool, very yellow. I strongly advice against him EVER wearing them again. He's just too beautiful and when he looks you in the eye, mmmmmmmmmm, well, he's breath-taking. (I know....just shoot me now! Forgive me I've been on the road for a few days now and am starting to go a little batty.)

We met up with....."HellTaker". I think that's her name. She's about 21 and looks like SailorMoon. Very cool woman. Very fun. Very into Taker.

So the signing was free. So HellTaker was on her second time through and we were on our first time through. I had told Jr. she could buy any two Taker comic books she wanted for the signing. She went for the 4-in-one and the 5th edition. So that's what we had for Taker to sign. He signed them both. I asked HellTaker if she could take a pic of me w/Taker after I got one of Jr. and Taker. She said sure, and of course I got a pic of HellTaker and Taker. So graciously, as always, he leaned in so I could get a pic of him and my kid. Then HellTaker took one of me and Taker (the flash didn't work). I took one of her and Taker. Then I told him about my site. He looked a little surprised when I told him it was called "The Unwrapped Undertaker". I told him, "No MC, only Taker". Then realized that was probably not what took him by surprise.

Hey Hag, below is a good reason to charge for signings....

So we decided to go through the line again with HellTaker. (Now if there was a charge I don't think we would have done this - that's a good reason to charge.) So I asked HellTaker if she'd take a pic of Jr. and I with Taker. I have no pics of the two of us with any wrestlers (very few of us together at all for that matter). The flash worked for that pic. That one will be very special to me. Jr. also got a signed pic of Taker in his WestleMania outfit. Yummy! Gotta love that get-up!

You'd think we'd be done, but no. HellTaker's goin' again so off we go with her! What would you do? 1. Get in the car and drive 1000+ miles? or 2. Wait in line to see that man again? Oh yeah we were in line!! *lol* So this time I wanted a pic of Jr. and Taker doing the eye thing. Yes, Jr. does the eye thing. (Grrr...as a mother this is a frustration to me. I worry about her eyes. But, well.....at least she doesn't wrestler, right?! I can live with it.). So we get up there and I ask Taker if he'll do the eye thing with her. He says to Jr. "You do it? Let me see!" So she does it. He smiled. Ignored my request and that was it. :-( Jozie was a bummed mommy. :-( But then I thought about it and realized that I was asking the impossible. Just think if he did it for every kid that could do it. Boy it would take forever to get through that line. So then I didn't mind and knew that doin' the tongue thing with me was definately out of the question. *LOL* Hey!! I never said I was tame. I think that would be an excellent shot for my site! *LOL* Okay enough of that. (I know, I'm bad.)

So he's up and outta there. I run ahead as he's walking down the hall, escaping the lot of us, having given us our due. So I think I got a pretty good shot full length shot of him. I bet by this time he was about ready to shot me. *lol* Yes, I make a lousy fan, but hey, we had a great time!

My suggestion: If you ever move, try to time it around a show or a signing. It'll give you something cool to think about on your drive and break up the monotony (sp?) of the move.

Ending Note: In the car, Jr. ruined the binding of her 4-in-one Taker comic book. After two hundred miles or so of seeing the devistation on her face and her glazed over eyes due to her mistake I finally said, "Listen babe, I'll buy another one, we'll go to another signing, it's be fine." So for the next few hundred miles she was back to reading her new Taker and Mankind comic books to me as we cruised down the open roads of our southern states. :-)

Till next time,

Jozie
