Why King of The Ring PPV
was Cut Short...
Apparently the timing problems at King of the Ring were because three of the matches
ended way too early. Two of the matches that ended early were X-Pac vs. Road
Dogg and X-Pac vs. Billy Gunn. When it came time for the main event it was only 9:57
pm. Even with the videos, introduction and stalling it would have required the main
event to go 40 minutes. It was decided by WWF Officials that a 40 minute main event
wasn't a smart idea.
As reported before there was a screw up with the Kane vs. Big Show match,
particularly the finish. There was a spot where Kane held a choke on the Big Show for
a long period of time. Big Show was supposed to get up and was looking for a cue.
Either the cue never happened or was missed but both wrestlers were forced to end
the match in an impromptu fashion.
