Wrestling Returning to Oregon????
Thanks to Dave Galvan for sending this in!
Pro Wrestling is returning to the Portland area!
Sorta....
In Friday's edition of The Portland Oregonian (July 9th, 1999) there is an
advertisement for Professional Championship Wrestling. They will be holding
matches at the Clark County Fair on Friday August 6th at 7:30 PM. This is
the first time Pro Wrestling has come anywhere near Portland in years!!!!!
The Clark County Fair, which is located across the Comlumbia River, nine
miles up I5 from Portland, in Vancover Washington, has a reputation of
having better acts then most fairs in the area (people that you have
actually heard of). Willie Nelson and Peter Frampton are two other people
appearing on seperate days.
I called the information number listed in the advertisement, and got a "No
Longer In Service...." message, so somthing is up with the phone lines,
obviously, but I will keep you informed about the card when I find out.
No way to find out who will be there, but, pictured in the ad are "Playboy"
Buddy Rose, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka and The
Honky Tonk Man. Obviously people who have drawn a crowd in the past.
Due to the recent issues of bringing wrestling to Oregon being shot down, I
ask that all fans in the Portland area go to this event if they can! Let's
show the Oregon Senate, House and Govenor that we are fans of this sport and
we enjoy watching it. Let's prove to everyone that we will support our
sport! Above all, let's all go, and have fun!!!
