//Where am I?// Toshiya gazed up into the sky, sighing. //Heh... I
don't even know where I'm going, so what would it matter where I'm at
right now?// He shook his head, taking a left at the intersection
and continuing to walk, looking for somewhere to eat.

"Kaoru, can we go home yet?" Kyo whined, shuffling his feet as he
walked behind Kaoru. "Its been six hours and we still have no idea
where he is..."

Kaoru stopped in mid-step and stayed very still. "Kyo, if you want
to go home, go. But Toshiya is out there. I'm not going to stop
until I find him."

"Kaoru... we've searched everywhere we would think he'd go. I'm
tired and I know you're tired too." Kyo walked up to Kaoru and put a
hand on his shoulder. "We won't be much good if we collapse from
exhaustion. We need to go back, get some rest, and try to think of
where he might be.. try to find some clue..."

Kaoru slowly turned to look to Kyo. "Kyo... he's out there, because
of me..." Kaoru opened his mouth to speak again, but his phone
rang. He blinked, looking at Kyo before fishing it out. "Hello?"

"..."

Kaoru frowned. "Hello?... Heeeelllllloooooo....." He frowned
again, about to pull the phone from his ear, when he heard a soft
voice.

"Kaoru?"

Kaoru's eyes widened. "To.. Toshiya?! Where are you? Are you
hurt? When are you--"

"Kaoru!..." Toshiya sighed. "I'm okay."

"Oh my god, Toshiya..." Kaoru cradled the phone with both hands,
leaning against a wall. "I've been looking all over for you... where
are you?"

"I... I'm at a friend's house, actually... out of town... a few towns
over..."

"What are you doing over there?"

"...Kaoru... I need to get away... everyone thinks... everyone thinks
it was me... and... I don't know.. maybe if something happens when
I'm not there, maybe then you will all believe me." Toshiya's voice
seemed to be almost a whisper.

"Toshiya... I..."

"I'm on a payphone, Kaoru... I have to go..."

"Oh... okay... Toshi--"

"I love you, Kaoru."

"Toshiya..."

"Bye, Kao--"

"I... I love you too, Toshiya."

Toshiya's voice seemed to catch, and it was a bit shaky as it came
over again. "I'll see you soon, hopefully... bye." A click
announced Toshiya had hung up.

"Bye..." Kaoru dropped his hand from his head and leaned against the
wall, gripping the phone in his hand as Kyo watched silently, a small
smile threatening on his lips.

Shinya walked to the butcher's while Die stayed outside with Puppy,
playing with the small dog. A smile played on Shinya's face before
he walked through the doors of the familiar shop, only to see his
butcher sitting at a table, hands clenched in hair, and shadows
playing over his figure like a cloak.

"Hello?" Shinya spoke cautiously.

His butcher looked up slowly. "I'm closed."

Shinya blinked. "What? You're always open right now."

"I'm closing--for good. Now, leave."

Shinya knotted his eyebrows. "But, your bussiness is going so well,
why would you stop?" He walked over to the table and put a hand on
the butcher's shoulder. "And I always love your meat, especially all
the exotic--"

The butcher growled at that. "You mean human."

Shinya pulled away slightly. "What...?"

"He said it was from out of country... he said it was an exotic
European animal... but he was really just killing people..."

"Who?" Shinya slowly inched toward the door.

"He confessed it all to the psychiatrist last night... my own son..."

Shinya's eyes widened. "You mean... I... I..."

The butcher nodded. "You've eaten it too."

Shinya shook his head. "No... no... this--this is too crazy..." He
shook his head even more, pushing his way out the door and running
toward Die.
