Part 2
When Kohta woke up, he stumbled into the bathroom and peed in peace, before
he returned to his room, discovering, that someone had pushed a letter
under his door. With an arched eyebrow, he opened the envelope and studied
the letter.
//Kohta,
I know you never notice, but I can't help myself but admire your wonderful
physique and irresistible laugh.
The way you move your hips against your bass... I'm fixed on this sight,
sometimes. But I just know that you will probably never ever see me the way
I see you, am I right? And I'm much too shy to come out to you already.
Just consider if you can see a chance to turn a longtime friendship into
something more and be ready with the answer when I find the courage to come
to you.
Someone close to you, in love//
"A love-letter?!!", he groaned.
The young bassist arched blinked a few times, making sure that he had
really read what now swam around in his head.
Someone close to you, in love? Who the hell could that be?
He didn't recognize the hand-writing at all, so that was no clue.
In his head he thought about all the faces around him, considering the
gestures, innuendoes but no one came into notice.
He'd really had to pay more attention to the world around him, Kohta nodded
resolved. He would try to find out who this long-time friend might be, so
he could face the writer of this letter. But it was embarrassing and
disturbing having someone adoring you, when you didn't know who. And even
worse...
[How should I react, when this person comes to me and declares undying love
to me?]
All of a sudden he felt at a total loss.
[Maybe I should ask someone for advice...]
After Kohta arrived at the breakfast table, looking around, trying to find
either out who the author of the mysterious letter was, which was quite
impossible or someone to give him advice.
The first choice in his mind was his brother, but the leader was missing.
As well was Kohta's best friend, Jun.
He looked around for other known faces of people who he trusted, finding
his band-mates sitting at the far end of the common table, Aiji nursing a
mug of tea, while Takeo was occupied on drumming a rhythm on his knees.
"Morning guys", Kohta greeted them. Both men returned his greetings, but
much less energetic. Considering the choice of trustees, Kohta decided to
go for Takeo.
"Takeo...?"
The drummer looked up to the younger man: "Something wrong, Kohta?"
"Could I ...talk to you for a moment?"
"Sure"
The drummer followed Kohta into a secluded little corner, just next to a
window, where anyone in walking the gardens could have seen them and
mistaken them for lovers. Especially when Kohta leaned down to Takeo's ear,
whispering: "I've received a love-letter today..."
The drummer raised a skeptical eyebrow at him, before he uttered: "Yeah,
big news. Man, you get loads of them every day."
"True. But usually they're not shoved under my door."
"Fans tend to find out everything, ne? Remember the time, we nearly lost
Jun because fans got a hold on him? Or all those times, screaming girls
nearly kicked in Aiji's door, while he was in boxers?"
The drummer wiped his brow in an annoyed gesture, while Kohta snickered :"I
can't believe, he really got a hold of all those pics they made of him."
Both men laughed outright and Aiji shot them a questioning glance, his face
a little distorted.
Clearing his throat, Kohta continued: "But the letter said, that someone
close to me loved me. And that I was too preoccupied to notice."
Takeo snorted, waved Kohta's lingering question away, then fumbled in his
pockets for a cigarette.
"But what if it is real, huh? How should I react?", the bassist's voice was
a little unsteady.
"See who it is, then decide", Takeo suggested very sincerely, before he
shrugged and went for a cup of coffee. Kohta was left in confusion, slowly
turning into distress, when he started to snarl little curses.
He plopped on a chair next to Aiji and pouted a little.
"So, where are Jun and my lousy big brother anyway?", the bassist snapped.
Aiji arched one of his elegantly plugged eye-brows: "Don't know. I haven't
seen them yet."
Kohta growled a little more, making Aiji giving him a small and sympathetic
smile: "Is there anything wrong I can help with?"
"I don't know... Just love troubles", Kohta sighed.
Aiji's eyes grew big: "Really? Who is it this time?" The face of the
bassist became stone, but then the muttered: "I can't say", leaving the
guitarist as clueless as before.
Suddenly a lot of voices demanded their attention.
Two very tired looking men stumbled onto the scene, both seemingly having
pulled an all-nighter.
Seeing his chance to get at his brother, Kohta teased: "Look who's awake at
long last...", rewarded by a glare from Kirito.
"Up at the same time? Does that mean you've shared an alarm clock by any
chance?", Takeo took the thread. "Or a bed by any other?"
Laughter roused up like heavy waves of an ocean, while Jun and Kirito stood
around, blushing, Kirito getting his countenance back earlier than Jun, who
nibbled his lips.
Aiji and Kohta just gasped, exchanging a wide-eyed look saying: "No way in
hell!!"
Jun grinned tortured: "It's all Kirito's fault", he complained, receiving a
tired whack from his band-leader. Kirito remained silent, looking
positively above such teasing, before he sat down next to Aiji. The latter
felt drawn to the lips of the older man, but Kirito only whispered in his
hear: "I've been taking care of the first steps with..." Kirito shot a
side-look to shi brother, deciding to risk nothing, "..you-know-who for you."
Realizing that this had been the reason why both, Kirito and Jun looked
throughoutly wasted, he gave the singer a thankful smile, while his heart
was beating faster and all the world seemed a few shades more colorful.
[Maybe this will really work], Aiji hoped.
Unnoticed, Jun had settled next to Kohta, giving the blond an apologetic
smile, when his make-up artist, Miyuki "Wickey" Inoue came up to him,
whining: "Jun-san, we need to do a lot of work on you today." Jun had seen
that in the mirror a little earlier for himself: "I know. I'm sorry,
okay?", he glared at Kirito accusingly, but his victim merely shrugged it off.
"So, I'll be expecting you to be the first in the "make room", okay?"
,Wickey didn't spare Jun, who nodded submissively. Then she flashed a cute
grin at Kohta, who responded with a knowing grin of his own. The woman
bowed just a little and returned to her group, all four men staring after her.
Afterwards a the little glaring contest between Jun and Kirito continued,
but before any of them succeeded, Kohta gasped. He was taken aback suddenly
by one sentence in the much fretted over love-letter: 'someone close to you'.
She was close, wasn't she? Physically at least when she was doing his
make-up, all smiles and sweet, adorable giggles. Her hand very soft and
gentle. Well, most of the time at least. He really had to talk to Jun about
it, who seemed beyond anything but a high dose of caffeine.
So he had to think of a plan to find out, if Wickey was the source of the
letter, by himself.
