Alnwick Castle

Author: Yukimi2 ( yk2_yk2@yahoo.com )

Genre: Historical Romance

Band: Dir en grey(main) + Penicillin + Others

Pairing: Ano... d x s & I'm making it up along the way ^^;

Setting: in the border of England + Scotland in the Medieval times

Author Notes: (please read!!)
1. This is very different from 7 deadly sins! It's light-hearted like Rm.304, for those happy-go-lucky people out there. I'm still not sure how this fic will go or how long it will take. I'm doing what I did with Rm304: spontatneous writing. I have a distinct general idea of what will happen, but the details will develop along the way.

2. There really is an Alnwick castle on the border of Scotland & England. that's been renovated over the years. The time I have it in the fic, it's whent he castle was a fortress and home to a Royal Knight. I didn't know this either until after I chose Alnwick as the castle, but Alnwick is the site at which the Harry Potter movie was filmed =o!

3. During the Medieval times, there was constant warfare among many, disorganized kingdoms. The kingdoms were so disorganized that often, they didn't know who their allies or opponents were. The English & Scots didn't get along, and there was much prejudice against each other. Because of the constant warfare, there were efforts of leaders of each kingdom/clan to reunite w/ opposing forces by marrying off their daughters to the enemy.

4. The midi is called "Turtle Dove", a Medieval English ballad, which will be sorta relevant to the story. I LOVE this song. And the lyrics will pop up in and out later in the story, kinda relevant.....

5. I'm not a historian, so don't pelt me with tomatoes if I don't follow it correctly. For one thing, Scotland didn't even have 'knights' at this time. They had Lords for every castle/fortress. And there will be anachronisms. *shrugs* I wanted this fic to be as fun as Rm304 =-).

6. OK. I hope I didn't bore you w/ such historical info ^^; On w/ the show, and enjoy! C/cs appreciated.

Prologue: Turtle Dove

Ten thousand mile is very far away,
For you to return to me,
You leave me here to lament, and well-a-day!
My tears you will not see, my love,
My tears you will not see.

The crow that's black, my little turtle dove,
Shall change its colour white;
Before I'm false to the maiden I love,
The noon-day shall be night, my dear,
The noon-day shall be night.

The hills shall fly, my little turtle dove,
The roaring billows burn,
Before my heart shall suffer me to fail,
Or I a traitor turn, my dear,
Or I a traitor turn.
