Basic Playdough

I put playdough out at least once a week. The kids use a large bowl to pour ingredients and stir. When their done I rope off an area and use a hot plate where they can watch it change safely!

3 cups plain flour
1 and 1/2 cups salt
3 Teaspoons Cream of Tartar
3 cups water
3 Tablespoons cooking oil
Food Coloring Peppermint extract...optional

Mix together and cook on low until it starts to get stiff.
Don't over cook! Leave slighty moist.
Roll out on table and cool.
Store in zip-lock bags.
This stuff stays good for months!
When it starts to dry out let the kids make something and let it dry to take home!
I roll mine out while it's still a little moist and sprinkle flour on a table and let the kids roll it in the flour.
Careful! Not too much flour.
To make black add black tempra paint but it will only last a couple of days like this. Still great for Halloween!
You can also use koolaide to scent and color playdough. Good Luck!

Peanut Butter Play Dough

1 cup peanut butter
1 cup corn syrup
1 1/4 cup nonfat dry milk
1 1/4 cup confectioner's sugar
Mix then knead the ingredients.
Let your child play with the dough then eat it.
If you have a group of children put in individual baggies
to mold then they can eat.
