What's That?

Shaking a rattle
Tapping a window
Bouncing a ball
Ringing a bell
Pouring water
Clearing throat
Turning book pages
Sighing
Coughing

Jingling money
Sharpening pencil
Sweeping floor
Different musical instruments
Stirring liquid
Snapping fingers
Tapping shoes

Clicking tongue
Rattling keys
Splashing water
Sneezing

You can also play puppets like we do. I pick a child to go
behind our puppet stand. It's a basic homemade frame with
dowel rod and curtain. The child uses a puppet to play a musical
instrument. When the children identify the sound the child
opens the curtain and has the puppet show the others.

Other Variations: Play two sounds and ask children if they are same or different.
After they guess ask them to identify the sounds.
