Great President Kim Il Sung proclaimed throughout the world the foundation of the glorious Workers’ Party of Korea on October 10, 1945.

That the President founded the WPK on the basis of the brilliant traditions of the anti-Japanese revolution 62 years ago was a majestic declaration of the advent of a new-type revolutionary party in the independent era and a revolutionary event that brought about the radical turn in shaping the destiny of the Korean people and carrying out the cause of Juche.

The history of the WPK is a glorious one that registered the most brilliant records in the sacred cause of the popular masses for independence and socialism and the cause of building a revolutionary party in the Juche era.

President Kim Il Sung was an unheard-of statesman who strengthened and developed the WPK into an experienced general staff of the revolution and led the cause of Juche to victory, and a great man who represented the 20^th century.

There was no such a leader as President Kim Il Sung who left the great political exploits and recorded the great history of revolutionary leadership, pioneered a new road of building a revolutionary party in his teens, realized the cause of building a party in his 30s and led the party building and activities for over 50 years at the head of the party.

The WPK has created the epochal paradigm in the party building and activities on the unique road indicated by the Juche idea.

The great President blazed the trail for building a new-type party, a revolutionary party of Juche type based on the fundamental requirements of the independent era and the Korean revolution quite different from the previous theories and experiences of party building.

The exalted dignity and pride and the invincibility of the WPK are ascribed to the fact that it has been strengthened and developed on a new road of building a revolutionary party, glorified with Juche and Songun.

The WPK has successfully led the cause of socialism centered on the popular masses and brought about landmark changes in Korea.

It is just Korea that registered the heroic epic of creation and changes in the unprecedentedly difficult and complex situations under the wise leadership of the WPK, opened up a heyday of great development and prosperity and formed a grand harmonious family where all the people are single-mindedly united around the party and leader.

It is the greatest pride and honor that the WPK has been built far-sightedly in order to carry out the revolutionary cause of Juche started from the Down-with Imperialism Union.

The high glory and dignity of the WPK as the party of great President Kim Il Sung are boundlessly shining by the absolute authority and political ability of leader Kim Jong Il.

The history of the WPK will shine forever as the history of great President Kim Il Sung and the history of the most proud victory and glory.

On the occasion the south Korean people are extending the sincere greetings of reverence and praises to the WPK which is administering the benevolent policy of lofty trust and love.
