The south Korean people who greet the February holiday, the greatest holiday of the nation, are having the great pride and happiness for holding Kim Jong Il in high esteem, the peerless great man, as the brilliant Songun commander of Baekdu, and the voice of praising him is reverberating throughout south Korea.

“We warmly congratulate the birthday of Kim Jong Il, the sun of the nation.” and “February 16 is the great auspicious day of our nation when Kim Jong Il was born.”; with such ovations for having the brilliant commander born of heaven continuously resounding, multifarious functions and events are taking place.

Publications and internet websites are widely introducing the peerless greatness and the undying leadership exploits of Kim Jong Il with his affectionate portrait.

In celebration of the February holiday the progressive organizations and the patriotic people from different segments in south Korea are holding colorful functions and meetings including forums on Kim Jong Il’s works, seminars on the Songun politics, recitation of poems and singing songs, photo exhibitions, publication of commemorative books, raising of the immortal flower Kimjongilia, flying kite “Native Place in the Secret Camp on Mt. Baekdu”, etc.

Through such events they are expressing the boundless national dignity and pride for holding Kim Jong Il as the sun of the nation and lodestar of the national reunification.

Today the south Korean people are unanimously admiring that thanks to the Songun politics of Kim Jong Il and his wise leadership the sovereignty and peace of the nation are firmly safeguarded, the era of national reconciliation, unity and cooperation is opened up through the historical north-south summit meeting and the adoption of the June 15 Joint Declaration and the October 4 Declaration, the reunification storm is sweeping over the 3,000-ri homeland, despite nuclear war moves of the US-led imperialist bellicose forces.

The praises for Kim Jong Il by the south Korean people from the bottom of their hearts represent their unshakable faith to revere and uphold him only and their pure mindset to accelerate the day of reunification without fail upholding his Songun politics.
