President Kim Il Sung, peerless patriot

 

August 15, 1945,

After 40-odd years since the Japanese imperialists occupied Korea and imposed the fate of colonial slavery upon the Korean people, Korea greeted a new spring of liberation at last.

During the severe trial period in the 5,000-year-long history of the Korean nation the land of Korea was totally devastated by the brutal killing and merciless plunder of the Japs and the Korean people underwent the worst disgrace and misfortune of being usurped of even their mother tongue and surname.

It was just great President Kim Il Sung, peerless patriot, who saved the country and brought about a new spring of the nation’s revival in the darkest period that Korea was destined to lose its name on the world map for good.

 

 

President Kim Il Sung who embarked on the road of revolution in his early teens with the firm resolve not to return home unless Korea was liberated conducted the bloody anti-Japanese war and achieved the historical cause of national liberation at last experiencing the whole gamut of hardships and trials in the snowy cold atmosphere of Mt. Baekdu for 20 years.

 

Korea’s liberation, a landmark event that brought about a new upsurge of the national revival, unprecedented in history of the nation, and a historical event signaling the majestic advent of a new era, was a precious fruition of the great Songun revolutionary leadership of respected President Kim Il Sung, the great hero of the nation.

 

In south Korea the President Kim Il Sung’s history of the anti-Japanese armed struggle was described in encyclopedia and textbooks, printed in booklets and depicted in artistic works.

In particular with August 15 at hand the south Korean media and internet websites are introducing the Biography “Kim Il Sung”(“General Kim Il Sung, the Sun of Humankind”) and President Kim Il Sung’s reminiscences “With the Century”, propagating President Kim Il Sung’s exploits of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle on a wide scale.

Through the film shows on the Korean feature film “The Star of Korea”, photo exhibitions, seminars, lectures, story-telling and other forms of functions and meetings the civic organizations and the patriotic people from all walks of life praise the President’s exploits for national liberation and invigorate their minds with the reverence for him.

 

Indeed, great President Kim Il Sung is alive forever in the hearts of our nation as the benefactor of the national liberation, the peerless patriot and the sun of the nation.
