Tends to act stupider than he really is because he has discovered that peoples' tongues are loosened around stupid people because they don't believe the "stupid" people are smart enough to comprehend what they are saying. He dislikes being pranked and has been known to place low-powered explosives within the quarters of those who cross him.

Blowing things up

Orphaned at the early age of five, Malfurion was adopted by the Federation Ambassador to Luria Prime, Ilidian Jackson. Jackson, who was fed up with his post on a planet "full of hyperactive, chattering boulders" promptly resigned his post and took to exploring. Without the presence of other Lurians, Malfurion grew up into a quiet, controlled young man with a deep interest in medicine.

All that promptly changed when Malfurion was 13 years old and Jackson adopted a 17 year old Romulan refugee, K'tark. Through K'tark's influence during the next 8 years, Malfurion became increasingly cunning and manipulative, and grew extremely interested in weaponry and explosives. By the time K'tark died at the age of 25, the 21-year-old Lurian was already wanted for two murders on a neutral border planet non-aligned with the Federation.

Upon reaching maturity at the age of 25, Jackson gave Malfurion the choice of either joining Starfleet or serving time in prison. After serving for four years on the USS Jumanji, Malfurion was fed-up with the fact that he was being "choked" with so many rules, regulations, and restrictions. Ultimately, he ended up at the Qo'noS Military Academy on the Klingon Homeworld, where he got to play with all of the explosives and weaponry he wanted to. After serving in the Klingong fleet for 13 years, Malfurion found himself growing bored and moved on to Starfleet Academy.

Now, at the age of 55, Malfurion is in his prime. (Lurians are considered "middle-aged" at around 120 years.)
