Why the class B is for you
As a customer visiting an R.V, dealership, a very important question to ask yourself
is "what type of RVing will you be doing?" Do you go away for the weekends,
enjoy sight seeing, perhaps using some side roads and/or make city trips?
Then a class B will be the ideal unit. The class B gives you the freedom of driving anywhere
that you can take a full size car.
Advantages of a class B
- Gas milage is double of that of a class A or C
- Can be replacement for your main or second vehicle, using it for 365 days/year,
compared to a class A or C which is used for an average of 23 days/year. Meaning they are parked;
costing you insurance, depreciation and possibly storage fees for the remaining days of the year.
- Depreciation in a class B will be half that of any other motorhome
- Versatility is second to none. Meaning you can travel and/or park anywhere;
no need to pull another vehicle behind a class B, also more effective due to only one unit to depreciate vs two.
- Service can be done at any service center. There is no need to go to a specialty shop in order to get your RV into the building.
- The class B entitles you to the 2nd home mortgage interest write-off (U.S. only)
- 15 year financing may be available, OAC
A frequently asked question is: "Why is the van so expensive?"
(The class B) is manufactured on a van chassis, which is more expensive than a cut away (class C)
or chassis and frame (class A). This will give you superior handling. The class B is hand made, not a prefab, meaning extra time
was used to properly fit the curvatures of a class B as compared to a square box A or C.
You can get a class A or C at a class B price, but you are comparing a top of the line
class B (LTV) to an entry level class A or C. A top of the line class A will run
anywhere from $300,000 to $900,000.
Class B's also have a price difference from entry level approximately in the low
to mid $40,000 to the top of the line totally equipped about $75,000.
