Cookie Booth - February 19th, 2000

We met in front of the Walmart store in West Nashville at 10 am. Ms. Sandy brought up two shopping carts full of cookie cases. We wore our vests on the outside of our coats, it was pretty cold today. We set up a table (improvised from a few milk crates and a board), hung our "Leap to the Future" cookie sales poster, set up cookie displays and we were off! Some of us were a bit shy at first, but soon we got into the spirit of things and were asking every person who came by. The cookies sold well, it seems everyone really likes Girl Scout Cookies and everyone has a favorite. We heard lots of stories from people who remembered selling cookies when they were a Girl Scout. By12:30 pm we had sold all of our cookies. It was pretty cold and windy, too, so we were glad that they sold out so quickly. We helped Ms. Sandy carry the things to her car and load them in the trunk, singing all the way.
