I was born in Seoul, Korea in 1976. My parents relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, when I was two years old, and I grew up in the suburbs to the southwest of the city. I graduated from Cornell University in 1998 with a Bachelor of the Arts in Asian Studies. I had started as an English major with the intention of going to med school, but soon decided it wasn't my bag, $80 grand later. I found my "calling" when I moved to New York City with nothing but a car full of used furniture and lofty dreams of working in the music industry. After a few stints in advertising and marketing, I landed a steady job as a production assistant in a promising startup where I was able to work with some major media moguls. As a consequence I learned a little about web development, and was able to continue working on my own music production at home.

Occasionally on weekends, I DJ-ed at lounges in the city and promoted my own parties to showcase my original work along with some of my colleagues' work. Shortly before the dot.com venture fell through, I was offered a chance to score some music for a big-budget short film which featured well-known talent. This marked my first experience in the film world, and the beginning of my subsequent obsession to make my own films. Since then, I have been trying to absorb as much as possible about every aspect of film, including scriptwriting, budgeting, shooting, editing, marketing, the list goes on and on... But I have found my voice, so to speak, in audio production, especially in sound design and composing music. My closest friends and I have put together a short film called Tunnel Vision, pulling together every available resource and network we had to make it happen. It's a small start, but it's a long road ahead. I hope I will find way to make this film habit grow into something meaningful for others besides myself. Soon.
