from
hatsupply.com. I would not recommend ordering your hat from here. Read my story to find out why.

Here is a picture of the black upholstery pinstriped fabric. When time comes to make this outfit I might purchase the navy blue stripe because I was told the color of the stripe on the fabric in the movie was navy striped. I however might just use this one that I already have because the stripes on the original suit are black and it would match perfectly. If I do use the navy striped then I will use this fabric for something else or sell it to another titanic costumer
I'm really excited about this project because I have my lavender titanic tea gown by Nataya that I could wear the hat with until I make my own boarding suit. I did almost custom order this hat from Davyne Dial because the starting price she was offering for the hat was the most reasonable price out there on the web for this hat to be made by someone else. After I told the lady what I wanted she then gave me an estimate for her to make it for me and it did not occur to me until after I told the hat lady what I wanted that it would be much cheaper to make my own. I think the final cost was between 200-400 dollars. If I had bought it I would have felt really guilty for buying such an expensive hat! I did ask her if she sold the base individually and she told me that she does not.

My only concern that I have with this hat that I have now is not a thick material and it might be to floppy for the big bows that I will have to add later, and I’m really worried about dying it the right way to. I'm going to take the unblocked hat to a hat shop to have it formed into a hat and hopefully they can block it how it is in the movie. When I do get my hat back from the shop I’m going to try making the big bows myself using the Wingeo hat pattern and with a little help from someone. If I do not like how the finished hat is blocked when I get it back from the store then I will keep continuing my search for a new thicker, not to floppy Parasisol Capeline hat because I might not even like the finished hat after I put the bows on it and complete it.

This is one of her accessories that I can not wait to own and wear because not only it is purple but it is something I could wear with many Edwardian and non Edwardian outfits. I also never owned a big hat before, which should be lots of fun to wear.
